Reading Books in Term 2

In Year 3 we have been Reading a range of books throughout the Term during our Reading sessions and our daily Reading Time. We have been inspired by a range of Robot themed books and enjoyed the illustrations, language and inferences that could be made while reading The Tin Forest by Helen Ward and illustrated by Wayne Anderson. We also explored the illustrations in the book, The Robot and the Bluebird by David Lucas. We have read extracts from The Wild Robot and some children are keen to read the entire fiction narrative independently which was written by Peter Brown. Our final book of the term is a non-fiction text created by Dr Devin Dennie. The book; Rocks and Minerals will help children to develop knowledge of rocks which will support their learning in Science in the Spring Term.

History - Stone Age

Children in Year 3 have just begun their learning about the Stone Age. We have travelled over 1 million years back in time and have been investigating the three eras of the Stone Age. The children worked together to create a historical timeline to help them grasp the key events over time.

For more detailed information about the Stone Age, please encourage your child to visit this website to learn about: PalaeolithicMesolithic and Neolithic eras of the Stone Age. This may even help them with their homework challenge.

Please also have a look at the BBCBitesize website for further information about life in prehistoric Britain.
