In Geography the Year 3 children have been learning about where our food comes from. We have learnt about the process of farm to fork; looking at producers and consumers; calculating food miles, looking at the effect of importing on our environment and some of the challenges local farmers face. \

To enrich our learning experience, the Year 3 children had a day trip to a local dairy farm. The children had a fabulous time in the cow classroom and learnt about the process of milking cows. We got to have a tractor ride on the farm, we met some new born calves and some of the children were lucky enough to see a new calf being born and their first steps. The children also learnt about the process of making butter and got to taste some butter on crackers that they had made themselves from the milk produced on the farm. The excitement of all the children demonstrated what a great experience they had and they were all very responsible and respectful being great representatives for Boothville. 3MG have had two fabulous sessions of Forest School in the Autumn Term. They really enjoyed the experience of outdoor learning. They explored the environment through play, were able to demonstrate STEM learning skills and they created some fantatstic skeleton structures (from our Science learning this term) using resources in our Forest School area. The children demonstrated great problem solving and team working skills throughout our sessions. 

The Year 3 children will return to Forest school again in the Spring and Summer Term. Thank you Miss Tarry for the great opportunities and experiences.
