the jungle book image for blog intro

In our year group, we have three classes named after characters from The Jungle Book story – Mowgli, Baloo and Bagheera.

The class teachers in Year 3 are Miss Fitzpatrick, Miss Garner and Miss Smith.

We are so lucky to have lots of other adults working with us, including: Mrs Kahn, Mrs Tarry, Mr Jackson, Mrs Glenn, Mrs Pell and Miss Gjinaj.

If you would like to get in touch, please email our class email addresses:

 (3MG - Miss Fitzpatrick)
 (3BL - Miss Garner)
 (3BG - Miss Smith)

There are several learning links on this page if you are looking for homework help or online activities. We have lots of exciting learning to look forward to so keep checking back on the blog to find out what we are up to in Year 3.

Scientific Skeletons and Marvellous Muscles

The children in Year 3 have been investigating the bones we have in our human body that make up the human skeleton. We have investigated the main functions of a skeleton and have had fun learning while making our own skeletons and labelling the main bones we have in our bodies. We have also been learning interesting facts about our muscles and what they are used for.

Watch this video to help you make your own arm model.

You can also find more information about how muscles work on the BBCBitesize website

Forest School

3BG have really enjoyed their Forest School sessions with Miss Tarry this term. They had lots of fun exploring outdoors, building dens, helping with the vegetable patches and finding insects. The children participated in discussions about seasonal changes to the environment in Autumn and they are looking forward to coming back to Forest School in the Spring Term.
